　　WhenSekeletuandIfirstascendedtheLeeambye，wemetSekobinyanecomingdown，onhiswaytoLinyantiOnbeingaskedthenews，heremainedsilentaboutthelossofhisvillage，itbeingconsideredacrimeamongtheMakololoforanyonetotreathispeoplesoillastocausethemtorunawayfromhimHethenpassedus，and，dreadingthevengeanceofSekeletuforhiscrime，secretlymadehisescapefromLinyantitoLakeNgamiHewassentfor，however，andthechiefatthelakedeliveredhimup，onSekeletudeclaringthathehadnointentionofpunishinghimotherwisethanbyscolding。
　　Hedidnotevendothat，asSekobinyanewasevidentlyterrifiedenough，andalsobecameillthroughfear。
　　ThefugitivevillagersremainedonlyafewweekswiththeirnewmasterMasiko，andthenfledbackagain，andwerereceivedasiftheyhaddonenothingwrong。
　　AllunitedinabusingtheconductofSekobinyane，andnoonecondemnedthefugitives；andthecattle，theuseofwhichtheyhadpreviouslyenjoyed，neverhavingbeenremovedfromtheirvillage，theyre-establishedthemselveswithapparentgladness。
　　Thisincidentmaygivesomeideaoftheserfdomofthesubjecttribes，and，exceptthattheyaresometimespunishedforrunningawayandotheroffenses，Icanaddnothingmorebywayofshowingthetruenatureofthisformofservitude。
