  ThensuddenlytheAsikastoodstillandthrewupherarmsandtheyfellupontheirfacesandlayasthoughtheyweredead。Athirdtimeshethrewupherarmsandtheyroseandremainedsosilentthattheonlysoundtobeheardwasthatoftheirthickbreathing。Thenshespoke,orratherscreamed,saying:

  ThemanstoppedhiscaperingandheldthemouthofLittleBonsatohisear,noddingfromtimetotimeasthoughshewerespeakingtohimandheheardwhatshesaid。ThenhepassedroundthedaiswhereAlancouldnotseehim,andpresentlyreappearedholdingLittleBonsainhisrighthandandinhisleftagreatgoldcup。Asilencefellupontheplace。Headvancedtothefirstmanwhohadjumpedandofferedhimthecup。Heturnedhisheadaway,butathousandvoicesthundered“Drink!“
