Butastothebreachofthepeacecommittedbythejourneyman,
hetoldmeheshouldgivemesomesatisfactionforthat,forhe
shouldcommithimtoNewgateforassaultingtheconstable,
andforassaultingmealso。
AccordinglyhesentthefellowtoNewgateforthatassault,
andhismastergavebail,andsowecameaway;butIhadthe
satisfactionofseeingthemobwaituponthemboth,asthey
cameout,hallooingandthrowingstonesanddirtatthecoaches

notquestionbutthatajurywouldgiveveryconsiderable
damagesonsuchanoccasion;sotakinghisfullinstructions

toakindofatreaty;butsoremote,andsowidefromone

attorneydemanded#500andcharges,andtheyoffered#50
withoutcharges;sotheybrokeoff,andthemercerproposed
tohaveameetingwithmemyself;andmyattorneyagreedto
