　　TheprocessionfirstenteredthechurchofSaintHilaire，wheretheclergyofthefourparisheshadassembled。Highmasswasperformedbythefullchoir。TheMiserereofBeethovenwasgiven，andsomeexquisitepiecesfromMozart。Deepemotionwasproducedbytheintroduction，inthemidstofthisbeautifulmusic，ofsomepopularairsfromtheromanceofFranconnetteandMeCalMouri，Jasmin’sfirstwork。Theentireceremonywastouching，andmovedmanytotears。

　　Anotherpublicmeetingtookplaceonthe12thofMay，1870，ontheinaugurationofthebronzestatueofJasmininthePlaceSaintAntoine，nowcalledthePlaceJasmin。Thestatuewaserectedbypublicsubscription，andexecutedbythecelebratedM。VitalDubray。ItstandsnearlyoppositethehousewhereJasminlivedandcarriedonhistrade。Manyofhisoldfriendscamefromaconsiderabledistancetobepresentattheinaugurationofthestatue。TheAbbeMassonofVergtwasthere，whosechurchJasminhadhelpedtore-build。M。l’AbbeDonis，curateofSaint-LouisatBordeaux，whomhehadoftenhelpedwithhisrecitations；theablephilologistAzais；theyoungandillustriousProvencalpoetMistral；andmanyrepresentativesoftheParisianandSouthernpress，werepresentontheoccasion。
